CONTRACT POSTING – Volunteer Services Manager

JazzEast Rising Association, producers of the 2010 TD Canada Trust Atlantic Jazz Festival July 9 - 17, is seeking an energetic, resourceful and meticulous people-person to join our team. This individual is tasked with the recruitment and management of the activities of our 400 + jazz festival volunteers and 40 senior volunteer coordinators in order to positively influence the operational success of one of the Halifax’s largest (and Best!) music festivals and to further the festivals solid reputation as having one of the most enjoyable, rewarding, well managed and deployed volunteer programs in the HRM.

YOU HAVE

• Well developed leadership skills
• High school and a minimum of some university education and / or a combination of education / work experience in relevant fields – public administration, public sector work, festivals and event management
• Several years of volunteer and team and/or volunteer management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven people handling and problem solving skills
• Proficient office computer skills, comfort with designing basic promotional materials using either desktop publishing or graphic design software as well as updating website content
• A natural gift for exploiting the internet, social media tools and other open source technologies to find what and who you are looking for
