Building Towards 25 Campaign

The scope of JazzEast’s artistic and community work is ambitious and far reaching, however the perennial challenge of a not-for-profit arts organization remains; the need for stable funding from a balance of varied sources to grow a vision with lasting impact.

Building Towards 25! is a new, an ongoing capacity building campaign to raise 250,000 dollars over the next two years. While the launch of this campaign is positioned around the important milestone of our 25th anniversary in 2011 and will support special 25th festival programming, this financing must be sustained into the years beyond an exciting celebration through a balance of increased membership and patron member donations, large private donations, and inspired corporate sector support.

To raise a quarter of a million dollars in two years is an ambitious challenge. However, we believe more than ever that the JazzEast community is in a position to meet this goal with success. With 100% financial commitment from JazzEast’s Board of Directors, and an inspired campaign that will encompass a series of innovative strategies to realize new financial, human and in-kind resources from the most traditional to the most unlikely places, we are committed to emerging from a place of precarious success in the face of constant struggle to one of excellence upon a strengthened, sustainable foundation. Already we have encouraging news to bolster this initiative! Our recent Gala Fundraiser for Music Education raised over $40,000; a 20% increase from previous years, due largely from the additional 65 people in attendance! In November 2009, TD Canada Trust renewed its title sponsorship of the Atlantic Jazz Festival for another five years; an exciting new partnership that will commence in 2011 with a 15% increase in title sponsorship dollars.
